Oz Kemal joined the firm in 2005, and received his Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Urban and Regional Planning) with a Minor in Geography from the University of Waterloo in 2002. Oz is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and a Registered Professional Planner in Ontario.
Oz has provided a variety of planning services for public and private sector clients, with a range of projects including the planning of commercial, mixed use, residential, and industrial developments. Oz has considerable retail/commercial experience ranging from individual stores to mall redevelopments to power centres. He also has considerable industrial experience having obtained approvals for over 4 million square feet of industrial warehouse space.
His land use expertise includes obtaining development approvals (including Site Plans, Subdivisions, Condominiums, Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, Consents, and Minor Variances), project management, policy development, and development agreement negotiations. Oz is often seen making presentations to Committee and Council, and has also provided expert planning evidence at the Ontario Municipal Board.
Oz has a keen interest in retail commercial and industrial development, and is currently the Chair of the University of Waterloo Planning Alumni of Toronto.
