Debra Kakaria has been a practicing planner since 1995. Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Debra gained a broad range of experience working for various municipal bodies. She has been involved in a variety of planning projects including comprehensive plan and policy formulation, community consultation initiatives and managing detailed development proposals.
Debra is engaged in various large-scale complex development and plan proposals and regularly acts as project manager of multi-disciplinary development including residential, commercial and aggregate-related proposals across the Province of Ontario. Debra has been an expert planning witness before the Ontario Municipal Board in a number of hearings.
Debra received her Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Urban and Regional Planning) with a Minor in Management Studies from the University of Waterloo in 1994 and her Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business of York University in 2006. Debra is also a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional, a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and a Registered Professional Planner.
