STORMWATER MANAGEMENT FACILITIES
MHBC has designed a number of storm water management facilities in a wide range of municipalities and development conditions from aesthetic residential and commercial ponds to industrial facilities. Careful attention is paid to the base along the storm water facilities and the selection of plant material to ensure successful growth and cover for the habitat that would be users of the facility.
This also included the design and development of a habitat for the amphibian Jefferson Salamander in a redeveloped watercourse corridor along the Bayview Avenue extension in Richmond Hill Ontario. It was critical that plant material selected for this corridor provide a well shaded and sheltered route for the passage of the endangered species.
