MHBC has been retained by Mon Sheong Foundation to seek approvals (Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment & Site Plan Approval) to redevelop their properties located near the northeast corner of Old Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue East in Markham.
The Owner has put forward a proposed site plan for their properties which sets in place a vision for a retirement oriented community comprised of independent residential living, assisted living and long term care opportunities in the Milliken Main Street planning area.
The Site Plan proposes approximately 64,500 sq m (694,300 sq ft) of institutional and retirement floor area comprised of four senior’s facilities ranging in height from 6 storeys to 24 storeys. The senior’s facilities will offer a total of 813 beds/units (200 long-term care beds, 160 assisted living units and 453 independent living units) as well as 2,000 sq m (21,528 sq ft) of amenity space. When completed, this redevelopment will assist the Town of Markham in achieving its long term growth objectives.
