RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY DESIGN
2005 - 2009
For this project MHBC completed a plan of subdivision and related urban design brief for a 73 hectare property in the City of Kitchener, Ontario. The design brief examined parks and open space, walkability, community safety, community character, streetscape design, priority lots, views and vistas and overall liveability. The plan for this community includes window streets, a trail system integrated with stormwater management, landscaped roundabouts, and enhanced landscaping at community entrances.
MHBC received the Planning Merit Award for the Trillium Community Design Brief. This award was presented by the Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians (CACPT) in 2007. The Trillium Brief was also featured in the July/August 2007 Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) Journal.
