Mahshid Fadaei 

B.Arch, M.Arch, M.Plan

Mahshid holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Architectural Engineering from IA University of Tehran. She also graduated with a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Calgary. She joined MHBC’s Woodbridge office in July 2021 as a Planner and Urban Designer. Her multidisciplinary education, international work experience, and background in architecture enable her to provide services for a wide variety of projects which include preparation of Urban Design Rationales, Massing Studies, Geo-Information Analysis, and Illustrative Mappings. At MHBC, she is involved in a range of project scales as well as an interdisciplinary team of planners, designers, and landscape architects.  She contributes to a variety of private sector projects including mixed-use high-rise, mid-rise, and low rise developments and commercial plazas. She is responsible for preparing Policy Analysis, Planning justification Reports, Urban Design Brief, and Block Context Plan. In addition, She prepares geoinformation analysis, mapping, illustrative and graphic drawings, and assists in the development of massing designs and potential development studies.

Through her previous experience as a development analyst, Mahshid has worked to develop large-scale master plans and has helped conduct studies on the topic of sustainable and ecological urbanism. She, therefore, has professional experience using datasets and GIS operations to conduct site analyses and produce graphics relevant to planning and urban architecture applications.

Mahshid has practiced policy-making, zoning, land-use designation, and development application as a part of her education in urban planning at the University of Calgary. In her recent experience, as a research graduate at the University of Calgary, she has worked with several business owners, and community associations to optimize the utility of vacant spaces in Calgary’s downtown core. Through her involvement with these organizations, she has developed concept designs for various place-making initiatives.

Currently, Mahshid is a candidate member with Ontario Professional Planner Institute (OPPI).
