COMMUITY MASTER PLANNING
1990 TO PRESENT
MHBC coordinated a neighbourhood design on behalf of numerous property owners for a 1,200 acre project in the City of Kitchener. The planning for this large property included a well connected trail network, and a series of parks and community focal points. The planning for this property will be implemented in part by the related design guidelines prepared by MHBC.
Implementation of the design guidelines was intended to occur through the overall site plan review and development of the streetscape and public spaces by Hallman Construction Limited and development of individual lots by selected builders. The vision for Riverwood (a portion of Grand River South) was to create a high quality, visually interesting identity which enhances the unique geographical context of the community. This includes proximity to the Grand River, expansive open space areas, parks, rolling landscape, the Walter Bean Trail and related neighbourhood trail system.
