Amanda Wyszynski, a Planner with MHBC, joined the firm in early 2016 after completing her Master’s Degree at York University. She has a formal education specializing in Planning, Project Management and Architectural Design through her master’s and bachelor’s degrees.
Her Master’s thesis, “The Waterloo Region Light Rail Transit – A Missed Planning Opportunity” completed a comprehensive review of the LRT from a theoretical perspective where each of the stations were analyzed, catalogued and reviewed relative to Official Plans, Secondary Plans and Zoning. From this, alternative station locations and designs were proposed. Her thesis emphasized public consultation, intensification, redevelopment and heritage protection.
Ms. Wyszynski provides a range of urban planning services to public and private sector clients including policy reviews, policy analysis, obtaining development approvals (Subdivisions, Condominiums, Site Plans, Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, Consents and Minor Variances), project co-ordination and management, and undertaking special studies and associated research.
Ms. Wyszynski is a candidate member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI).
